Ready to get away to the lush landscapes of Huehuetenango, Guatemala? Prepare to be captivated by the intricate Flavor Notes: the delightful sweetness of Honey-sweetened Nougat, the juicy tang of sun-ripened Pluots, and the rich decadence of smooth Fudge.
This single-origin marvel is cultivated with meticulous care at El Apiario & El Panal farms by the esteemed producer, Jorge Mendez. Employing the Washed process, this coffee showcases Bourbon and Caturra varieties coffee plants that are nurtured in the high altitudes of San Pedro Necta, Huehuetenango, spanning 1,600 to 1,950 meters above sea level (MASL).
The beans undergo a precise 36-hour fermentation, followed by a patient 7-10 day drying period on concrete patios, ensuring optimal flavor development. The story of Jorge Mendez is as compelling as the coffee itself. His inspiring journey from a humble picker to a proud farm owner exemplifies his unwavering dedication to producing the highest quality coffee.
In addition to our exceptional coffee, we are delighted to seasonally offer Coffee Blossom Honey harvested directly from Jorge's farm, a sweet complement that encapsulates the unique terroir of El Apiario & El Panal.
